Gabriela is the embodiment of the American Dream. As a naturalized American immigrant from Romania, she gave up her prestigious medical career when she arrived in the United States and chose to pursue her love of learning and goal attainment. Gabriela understands the fundamentals of problem solving as she has solved more problems in one lifetime than many solve in any lifetime.
It is Gabriela’s love methodological purity that has guided her success with research design and statistics during her higher education career. Her presentation experience has focused on imparting research results for topics such as institutional assessment & effectiveness in higher education and college student performance & success. She has maintained membership in higher education research and teaching associations as well as remained active in the professional associations of the medical field.
Gabriela’s credentials include the Doctor of Philosophy in higher education from the University of North Texas, a master’s in human development and early childhood disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas, the medical doctorate from the Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania, and national licensure as a medical technologist. Her Ph.D. dissertation is titled Student Outcomes in Selected Distance Learning and Traditional Courses for the Dallas County Community College District: A Pilot Study.
Gabriela has applied her research and medical learning and experience as an educator for over ten years. Gabriela currently teaches courses for the campuses of the Dallas County Community College District and serves as an assessment coordinator and academic program evaluator for Cedar Valley College. She has extensive experience as an institutional researcher and has earned great respect from her colleagues in higher education through her activities in benchmarking, quality training, and the Texas Association for Institutional Research. Gabriela has been recognized through Phi Kappa Phi, Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, and the Texas Award for Performance Excellence.
Gabriela has taught college students how to be successful, the basics of human psychology and development, foundational courses for the field of medicine such as anatomy, and clinical courses in the medical field such as ultrasound technology and nursing. Recently, Gabriela has begun coaching dissertation writers on the best techniques and strategies for designing and implementing research for the achievement of successful dissertation defenses. More than one dissertation student considers her knowledge and ability to communicate statistics and research design a “saving grace.”
